NOMINATION CRITERIA FOR THE DRUG CONTROL AUTHORITY (DCA) EXPERT ADVISOR PANEL
 
  1. Criteria for nominating the Drug Control Authority (DCA) Expert Advisor Panel are as follows:
    1. Chief of Clinical Services of Ministry of Health (MOH) and/or Chairman of the Drug Working Committee (JKK) of MOH
      1. Not among the members/alternate members of DCA
    2. Consultant Specialists/ Senior Consultant Specialists/ Research Specialists from MOH nominated by the Medical Development Division or other relevant divisions/institutes
      1. At least 5-10 specialists for each area/sub-area of expertise;
      2. Must have at least 2 years of service with MOH remaining;
      3. Not among the Chief of Clinical Services of MOH or the Chairman of the Drug Working Committee (JKK) of MOH
      4. Not among the members/alternate members of DCA

    3. Consultant Specialists/ Senior Consultant Specialists from universities with teaching hospitals, and nominations will be requested from Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM), Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM), Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya (PPUM)
      1. At least 2-3 specialists for each area/sub-area of expertise;
      2. Must have at least 2 years of service with the Ministry of Higher Education remaining;
      3. Not among the members/alternate members of DCA

    4. Consultant Specialists/ Senior Consultant Specialists from the private sector
      1. At least 2-3 specialists for area/sub-area of expertise;
      2. Must possess relevant professional qualifications and experience;
      3. Must have retired from the Public Service
      4. Should have good record in providing product reviews previously

    5. Consultant Specialists/ Senior Consultant Specialists/ Veterinary Research Specialists from universities with veterinary teaching hospitals/clinics, and nominations will be requested from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK)
      1. At least 1-2 specialists for each area/sub-area of expertise;
      2. Must have at least 2 years of service with the Ministry of Higher Education remaining;
      3. Not among the members/ alternate members of DCA
 
  1. All members of DCA Expert Advisor Panel are appointed by the Director General of Health for a term of 3 years.
 
  1. The criteria for the nomination of the existing DCA Expert Advisor Panel are based on the decisions of the following meetings:
  • 315th DCA Meeting, 29th August 2017
  • 358th DCA Meeting, 4th June 2021
  • 369th DCA Meeting, 10th February 2022
